Tasmanian Yearling Sales
Monday 24th February
146 Lots Commencing at 12 Noon
Alpine Eagle, a first season sire by High Chaparral, has the largest draft numbering with 26 lots 16 fillies and 10 colts.
He is getting the numbers, breeders are supporting him which is encouraging, he is not going to get speedy squibs, he has a stayer’s pedigree.
Interest is sure to be shown in Lot 99, the colt by the former crack two year old Flying Artie , the only entry by his sire in the sale.
Lot 104, the only colt by Headwater, he does get nice progeny, he is a nice horse himself, he should create interest as he has winners in his first crop, his progeny come early which is a huge advantage.
Looking for a winner? Well try a Magnus, they seldom fail, he has a great strike rate record, he continues to leave winners.
Needs Further, standing at Armidale has 43 Lots; while Grenville has 41 Lots to sell, both are the major studs in Tasmania.
The best bet of the sale is likely to be Adelaide trainer Gordon Richards, he never misses Tassie, he is an odds on.
