Time and Patience Rewarded
Time is a rewarding factor, just that little bit of patience and everything can fall into place.
That happened at Sandown Park on Saturday when Villermont blew the field away coming from last, and posting a Group 2 win in the Sandown Guineas, presenting his sire, All Too Hard, with another Stakes winner.
Villermont made a case that he will be something to be reckoned with in the autumn, that he is a highly promising three year old.
It could be a case of like father like son, All To Hard was a handy two year old with the promise of more come.
He soon wore the crown when he won the Caulfield Guineas convincingly, and was beaten a head in the Cox Plate by Ocean Park, Pierro ran third.
He promised a lot and delivered when he again met open age and the best three year olds in the prestigious All Aged Stakes Group 1, with a history going back to 1866.
His son, Villermont, will now go for a well earned break and re appear in the autumn, his mission naturally would be the Australian Guineas, and the Australian Cup could be another option, he is a colt with a lot of potential.
All Too Hard just had to get a good horse; Villermont is from his second crop, he is still a preparation away, however, he is learning quickly, the autumn awaits him.
Whilst All Too Hard was not your early precocious two year old, he did win three of his four starts.
His first two crops of yearlings were well sought after by many of our leading trainers, five lots exceeding half a million dollars or more.
