Vinery Among The Winners
Euro Charline was the toast of Chicago last weekend when she became the first filly in history to win the prestigious Group1 Beverley D Stakes on the Arlington Circuit.
The filly was flown in from Newmarket UK by Marco Botti, to lay the gauntlet down to the cream of American mares in training at this time of the year.
The success of the filly has great significance to our local breeders here as she is by Myboycharlie, among the resident sires at Vinery.
Euro Charline is out of Eurolink Artemis, by Common Grounds, who at one stage of his career saw service here in Australia.
The filly will remain in America where she is owned by Barry Irwin, and will be trained in future by Todd Pletcher, her passage is booked for Santa Anita in November, her mission the Group 1Breeders Cup for fillies and mares.
While Myboycharlie is adding to his credits in far off Chicago, Casino Prince was flying the flag at Caulfield with Star Rolling, winning the Peter Lawrence Stakes at W F A.
And Testa Rossa was back in the act when his daughter, Samartested, graduated from Geelong to Sandown winning over 1400 metres, she is a half sister to the Blue Diamond success, Samaready.
