Vinery On A Roll
A spate of winners by Vinery based sires over the past week focuses attention on the leading breeding farm in the Hunter Valley.
Vinery’s premier sire, More Than Ready, got the ball rolling siring Sugar Rush; she recorded her fourth win at Randwick last week.
She is from the New Zealand bred mare Sugar Babe, by Exceed and Excel, the first foal of her dam to race.
Testa Rossa could be likened to a good beverage, he just continues pressing on, with a running double at Morphettville this is evidence of the type of horses he gets when they find form and retain it, he has always proved a popular sire in the sale ring.
Excites is really beginning to fire up, his winner at Randwick last week, Black Jag, out of the Chris Waller yard, scored an impressive win taking out the McGrath Estate Agents race by 6 lengths.
It was action again for Excites when the more than handy filly, Parraay, put paid to her opposition at Canterbury, while the margin may have been slender the win was impressive, she is the only foal from her dam to race.
More Than Ready and Excites were among the winning sires again yesterday, this time at Rosehill.
Mossman was not left out either when siring Hopfgarten, who took out the Sunshine Coast Guineas for trainer, Robert Heathcote.
