Congrats Ready To Strike

Few sires have entered the stud scene with a more imposing record than Congrats, who shaping up for his fourth season at Vinery, a leading stud in the Hunter Valley.

However, he is no stranger in the U S where his progeny are proving a revelation when he recorded a winning double with Tulira’s Star, opening her winning account at Arlington Park, and Flying Frank zipping over 700 metres in 40.80s at Canterbury Park.

Congrats is a well established sire in the United States, he went to stud in 2007, his progeny hit the blocks running with 26 individual winners from that first crop, an amazing performance seldom seen by a sire in any part of the world.

His progeny are displaying a great speed influence, obviously through his dam, Praise, by Mr Prospector who has proved a source of early maturity.

This is a winning dam line, in fact nearly perfect, Praise, the dam of Congrats, left six winners from seven foals to race while his grand dam, Wild Applause by Northern Dancer, was a marvel in her own right leaving 10 winners from 11 foals to race.

Congrats, by A P Indy, commenced his stud career in Florida before moving on to Vinery’s base in Kentucky, is a proven sire in the United States where he has sired 33 Stakes winners with a high percentage rate of winners to starters of 73 per cent.

His rising two year olds will be given every chance with leading trainers, David Payne, David Hayes and John Hawkes, all purchased nice yearlings by Congrats, and their presence will be awaited with interest.
