Testa Rossa, an excellent racehorse, a proven sire, yet has never received the recognition that he has so thoroughly deserved.
He is one of those horses that have so often been taken for granted, now in his 17th year he is still going strong, as results show.
There were some gems in his career as a racehorse, a good miler, winning the Group1 Emirates Stakes among his 13 wins.
He was out in a good year, the same year as Redoute’s Choice, finishing second to him in the Blue Diamond Stakes and the Caulfield Guineas.

Testa Rossa is by Perugino, a well related sire by Danzig, he shuttled for a couple of seasons to what was known then as Collingrove, at Nagambie.
Perugino was sacked never to return again, however, when Testa Rossa showed brilliant form as an early two year old, an urgent S O S was sent to the U K to renew negotiations for another stint back at Collingrove.
