Bel Esprit on the crest of a wave
Since the re-location of Bel Esprit, from Eliza Park International Victoria, to its sister stud in Queensland, the son of Royal Academy has been on quite a roll.
He really opened up with a double on the middle day at Caulfield, via Tilla Bell Rings and the very promising Keen Array, plus Killawarra scoring at Wodonga, while the three year old filly, Riapinka, trained by Kris Lees, showed her rivals a clean set of plates at Wyong, winning with ease, and Belle Melba won at Morphettville for Caulfield trainer, Clinton McDonald.
Bel Esprit has never been fully appreciated in his home state, at the time of his departure for Queensland he was the highest progeny stakes earner in Victoria, with $48,226,041 to his credit, the best sire in the state, it is all about money earned.
It has been a good season for Eliza Park International, besides Bel Esprit, Wanted has had a winner at Pakenham, and Statue of Liberty is on a roll at present with winners at Pakenham, Ascot and Wodonga.
