Lumosty Wins For Brave Owner
There were cheers all round for popular owner, Phil Sly, after his brilliant filly, Lumosty, scored an effortless win in the Listed Straight Six.
Breaking away from a charity luncheon for cancer, he entered the mounting yard with a smile, asking, “how is she?” he asked, a wink from Robert Smerdon satisfied him, it was just a matter of going around
Lumosty returning to scale
Lumosty is right on track for her prime engagement, the $2 million Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm, in two weeks.
Phil is determined to be at Eagle Farm to see the filly, he will not hear of her being beaten, but first he is in need of another operation this week, his 47th, this time to remove ribs as a result of the dreaded disease.
Lumosty is still well down the list for a start in the Stradbroke; however, there is an alternative, the Tatts Tiara.
“I’ll just have to get myself right so I can be there in Brisbane, “he said referring to the fight against cancer, and his dedicated work with the charity, Pancare.
Sly is quite partial to fillies by Fastnet Rock, he also owns the Oaks winner, Mosheen, she was a more dour filly than Lumosty.
