Early Double For Flemington Stable
The training partnership of Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra, were on the ball early with the first leg of a winning double, when Bel Chandon scored a rather easy win in the Phar Lap Club Plate at Flemington.
When Matthew Ellerton was questioned by the media how she came to be beaten at Terang, it was just shrugged off as just one of those things that can happen in racing.
With the Terang affair cast aside she left no doubts at Flemington, she finished gamely from last putting the issue in no doubt long before the post was reached.
With her maiden status now broken with quite an authoritative win, it will be no surprise if she shapes up again at the same venue in two weeks.
Her jump outs are an indication she will get further, and coming from near last on Saturday was an impressive effort.
There was little money for the winner, she drifted in the market, where as Nadawaat was the pronounced shortener, but really did not do a great deal.

The winner of the second leg of the stable double, Face Forward, was always prominent in the firing line, scraping the paint off the outside rail in winning the Patricia Vagg Handicap.
After she drew the outside Katelyn Mallyon allowed the filly to run along, there was no point in dragging her about.
The filly responded well and was a clear leader when the field came onto the course proper; she was trouble free at that stage.
Betting looked a bit strange when Chiavari was sent out as favourite, while Fast Forward drifted; the position was much the same when they met at Flemington the last time.
Fast Forward will be back at Flemington in two weeks, she is becoming a specialist on the straight six surface.
