Connections of Coronation Shallen were ready to celebrate after her number 3 appeared on the semaphored screen as the winner of race six, the Melbourne Signage Concepts Handicap.

However, chocolates were soon changed for boil lollies when the photo finish revealed that number 5, Chiquada, was the official winner of the race.

Any malfunction in the judge’s box was soon rectified, with the big majority of racegoers not aware of the incident.
