Pressing Wins In A Breeze
Pressing put a warm feeling into what was a pretty miserable day when he turned in a super run to win the Listed Sky High Mt Dandenong Stakes at Caulfield.
You could have excused the long faces of connections when he was labouring on the railway side of the track, it would have required a good shot to have hit him with a cannon.
This was the second win of two runs at Caulfield, he certainly has some talent, however, his future is yet to be planned as to where he races next.
His astute trainer, Mick Price, has some tough decisions to be made; the J J Atkins Stakes is a option, that is a Group1 race that would put the icing on the cake.
“We have entered him for the Brisbane race, I believe he would be better suited over further ground at this stage, we feel sure he will run the mile but he has to train on, we don’t know how much more is left in the tank at this stage, “ said Price.
Pressing is by the Golden Slipper Stakes success Sebring, who is enjoying a great season at stud, out of Lamiraqui, her only win was at 1100 metres and she is by Choisir.
Irrespective of how you look at the pedigree it suggests speed, but let’s not forget Sebring did sire the ATC Derby winner Criterion.
