Champion Jumps Jockey First City Winner
Former champion jumps jockey, Brett Scott, was on cloud nine after training his first city winner, Coronation Shallan, winning the final race at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
The ex New Zealander is putting together a nice team at Mornington, with Coronation Shallan having top billing
She is improving with each run going from strength to strength, from five starts she has now won three times and placed second twice.
Bred on the Mornington Peninsular by Tony and Julie Biddle, they have a selective breeding pattern that is working quite well for them, allowing their horses to grow out before any quick decisions.
Coronation Shallan winning impressively under Daniel Stackhouse
Two year old racing is not on the agenda, never has nor likely to be, breeding to race is the preferred option.
The choice of Strategic was perfect for Coronation Crystal, it has worked well with the result being Coronation Scallan, she is a lovely mare and was the pick of the yard, a mare with a lot of quality.
Her performance was impressive, from a centre draw she had to travel wide for the majority of the trip, yet she continued to make up ground.
It was a big run, she did all the hard work in running, yet was coming away on the line, Daniel Stackhouse can be proud of his ride.
