Adelaide Visitor Wins Guineas Prelude
Eclair Big Bang staked his claim as a definite Caulfield Guineas aspirant after winning the Prelude in pretty impressive fashion.
He is an on pace runner as was shown with the win, that is always going to be an advantage, certainly around Caulfield.
While El Roca was carving out a merry dance in front, the riders of, Long John and Charlie Boy, were in dreamland, they were further back than Wonga Pronto.
Long John was never going to win from where he was positioned on the railway side of the track, yet his sectionals in the straight were much better than the first and second horses.
There was quite some discussion in the Darley camp after the race with excuses offered, the simple fact is that Long John should have won beyond question.
He will remain favourite for the Guineas that was the best trial we have seen so far and will remain so as the one $1million semi classic is just two weeks away.
