No Decision On Valley Winner
John Thompson is in no hurry to make any decisions in what path he may take with Thump after her easy win in the Champagne Stakes at Moonee Valley’s night fixture, last Friday.
The Sydney trained filly was always in control after drawing barrier one, she really gave her opposition the slip once she hit the ground.
Miracles Of Life tried hard to get on terms with the winner, Thump, but to no avail, she was simply out gunned by a better filly on the night.
Whether she has made the natural progression since the autumn is questionable, she was the early precocious filly, the others might now be catching up to her.
Possibly Thump will remain in Melbourne for the present while the trainer looks about for a suitable race around 1200 metres, whether she would get any further is unknown, she was certainly strong enough on the line at Moonee Valley.
Thump is by Red Ransom, about his last crop to race, he was no great shakes himself winning two races from three, and a meagre $34,400 in stakes.
As a sire he was a giant, while standing at Vinery he sired winners of almost $90 million, with 91 Stakes winners, 88 Stakes placings.
Red Ransom proved an outstanding sire, it is now left to his sons to carry on, Charge Forward, Red Dazzler, Onemorenomore, All American, Duporth and Domesday.
