Gregers turned in a good trial for the Thousand Guineas in winning the Prelude after drifting noticeably in the betting.

While most of the form was centred around her, it had been at Moonee Valley, which may have been a reason that punters played a little cautiously.

Her run in the Danehill Stakes, at Flemington, was quite good under the circumstances, while she shifted about in running, mainly due to lack of experience on the straight track, and being crowded up by other runners she appeared to be a bit field shy.

Young Chad Schofield gave her a great ride on Saturday, he had her nicely placed all the way, poised to make his assault on the leaders when heads were turned for home.

Gregers, by Commands, earned Black Type for her win in the Prelude, and a Group 1 now beckons if she can win the Thousand Guineas.  

The run of second place getter, Marianne, was full of merit, if anything she was taking ground off the winner when the post was reached.

Surprisingly Politeness was sent out favourite after only two wins at the provincials, she ran on fairly but was hardly entitled to start favourite.
