No Waste Of Time At The Valley
Moonee Valley’s track manager, Martin Synan, had his troops marshalled ready to spring into action once correct weight was announced for the last race on Saturday.
The operation, “spring restoration”, that time of the year when the track receives its annual facelift as it awaits the important races of the spring.
Long before the bars had closed the running rail had been completely removed, the mowers were ticking over, much of the operation would be done under lights.
This is a huge advantage Moonee Valley has over the other city tracks; it gives the track manager more options, particularly with watering over the hot summer months.
With the mowing completed, the track reseeded, it is full steam ahead for the next race meeting on the 14th of September, with the major attraction the Dato’Tan Chin Nam Stakes.
